Arroyo Seco

Well here are some pictures of our venture up to the Arroyo Seco bike path
It was paved for maybe two miles then just dirt.. and since my bike has street tires on it my bike was slipping and sliding around and I was expecting a fall but it never happened. We stopped when the trail started to get steeper because I really can't manage it on my BMX.. and the fiancee was having trouble with her mountain bike gears.. It was really nice though, only saw maybe 10 people who were all friendly.. Was nice and cool from the shade and the stream and plenty green which you don't often see around LA.. Stopped and had lunch also..
There's a neat wooden bridge back there that was built in 1939.. and well next time we go I just hope to have a bike with gears so we can go all the way up the path..

Well I'm about to go up to the Arroyo Seco bike path with my trusty fiancee. I just hope there isn't much of an incline as I have a BMX bike.. which only has one gear. So uphill is really really hard and just doesn't work. I kind of ommited telling my fiancee that there was a mountain lion attack up there. All is well though ! I can run faster then her ;D

See you there at 6:30pm!

Why why why do people do this in LA during the week ?? I mean from say 3:30-6:30 it's rush hour in LA, which means you might be doing a cool 10mph (at most) on the freeway. So getting anywhere past a couple miles means either taking the streets to avoid the frustration of the freeway... leaving before rush hour and finding something to do for a few hours... or have a fun time sitting really really aggravating traffic.
I just feel like blowing people off when they do it unless I live somewhat near wherever we're going. It aggravates me when tell me see you there at 6-6:30 at a place 30 miles away from me. I mean I don't wanna make my friends or family sit in traffic so if I do have anything planned during the week which is like incredibly rare, I do it at 8 o'clock or so. So they can leave at 7 and not sit in traffic... hopefully..
I've had this done to me by a few people a couple times.. I just wanna know does anyone take things like this into account ?? Now that I think about it I actually have completely blown off people who've asked me to show up somewhere at some ridiculous(to me) time (Ok and I don't really like them much either).
Sounds crummy but I drive a lot.. I might put a few hundred miles on my car in a couple days.. It's not bad driving when there isn't traffic but when there is it just sucks everything out of me. I mean ya I've had to sit in traffic for my old job but that was because I had to. I get annoyed over it because there is no reason to sit in traffic to go to dinner with someone for the most part..
blah that's it..

Patent Patent Patent Patent Patent Patent

Well I don't think many people know this about me but.. I have a lot of mechanical ideas, I actually have a notebook with pages and pages of ideas. But! I've never managed to finish any of them or even manage to complete a prototype. Which has always bothered, even more so lately. The closest I've gotten is with my recent one. I had some parts made of plastic in a rapid prototyping machine (basically a 3d printer that spits out plastic parts) a ways back. Then moved on to trying to get a business license which I couldn't get so on to the back-burner my idea went.

Lately though I was doing my usually bit of thinking and devised a better way to go about it. So I went out and got a book on filing a provisional patent. It's kind of like a placeholder for a real patent that you're gonna file in the future and lets you say patent pending. I finished it up today and mailed it off.. now I wait to get confirmation back that everything is good and filed :). I'm happy yet nervous because the thought of someone beating you to the punch is really nerve racking.. Hopefully I can bring my idea to reality in some timely fashion and make something out of it.
Maybe once I get my postcard back telling me it's been filed I'll post more about it..
In the mean time check out

Amélie
I watched this last night on the Independent Film Channel - 550 on DirectTv.
I really recommend it unless you can't stand sub-titles
It's a movie about a girl who likes to anonymously make people happy or do mischievous things to the deserving.. and toys with a guy she has a crush on with games and notes..
I don't think any description really can sum up the movie.. I'd just say check it out.. it's really good..

Save me from boredom !

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I don't think I could be any bored then I've been lately.. and with the pain I got in my side that's been thought to be a kidney stone. I've been delayed from leaving until July... So I've got even more time to spend doing nothing now. I think I may go kill some time by taking some classes at the local college. I found a class that sounds interesting but I'm not sure if the class is what I want.. The description of it is : CIM 101 is an introductory course that provides a comprehensive study of the fundamentals of industrial robots.
I want to take a CNC (see link) class but I'm kind of unsure if that class is what I want.. I guess I will try find out tomorrow. I may take a math class also *shudder*, I really don't like math. The last math class I took was math anxiety. But with the new career route I've chosen I'm gonna have to get all the way up to calculus, so I've gotta get to it..
Hopefully I will be able to occupy myself until July so I don't waste away..

¡No esta in la casa!

Ok just two interesting videos to watch.. :o

David Bowie with Nine Inch Nails - I'm Afraid of Americans

A warning for the video below! it's quite graphic and:
This video is a mix of interesting, entertaining, and just really wrong I guess that's why it's captivating.. and there is nothing else like it.. I actually tried to find a clean version but couldn't because well I guess that ruins the fun of it.. Stop it at 1:50 to avoid the scene with nudity ..

I spent $93.60 today.. wait..

On fishing! I went with
The Ivan:

The Christine + her friend:

and! The Jessica

It was actually kind of a frustrating day.. I took me about an hour and a half of driving to get Jessica and get over there to fish. The whole time the freeway either wasn't going very smooth or people were driving really slow in groups..
We got there at the last minute only to be delayed even more by cashiers that lack a sense of urgency.
Our day of fishing could had gone better. We watched a guy yak what looked like french onion soup.. and we all caught some rocks and lost some lures. Between the the five of us we caught two fish and the one I caught had poisonous needles all over and was too small to keep. I did have fun putting squid in Christine's hood, which she didn't find out until about an hour after we finished fishing. She of course called me and thanked me for her new addition to her sweatshirt.

I had to buy gas also :\

So it was actually a $138.90 fishing trip.. I got no fish but got to spend some time with friends so all is good.
I'm now thinking a cheapy used boat would be a good investment if I were to fish more..

Doctors, Doctors, and more Doctors

I've been going back and forth to the doctor a lot lately. I keep trying to get cured of the congestion I have in my lungs but it's taking a really long time to go away. Out of three doctors I saw for it only one has seemed to semi-cure me the others efforts resulted in nothing really. It's still lingering around in me it feels as if it's going away but I can still feel it there and I just want it gone.. 4 months of it is no fun at all.. I'd rather have gotten the flu three times or broken a bone..

It gets better also, two weeks ago I got a really really bad pain in my kidney/back area so off to urgent care I went. The doctor saw me and was convinced it was muscle pain even after I described the pain as a 9 on a 1-10 scale. Luckily he didn't drop it there and to be on the safe side had me do a urinalysis. Which came back positive for blood but! the doctor was still convinced muscle pain! So he tells me to take some Motrin for my 9 our of 10 pain! and tells me to get a warming pad for my back. He says he doesn't know what the blood in the test results is though so he says he will send it off for a culture to make sure everything is ok.. but I checked with my doctor today and the doctor I saw at urgent care never sent off the urinalysis for a culture. So my doctor thinks it's a kidney stone and has me do another urinalysis and prescribes me a big bottle of vicodin and a CT scan. I felt kind of strange about the vicodin so I told him I wasn't having the pain anymore but I think he feels it will come back :\.
Which I am really really not looking forward to as the pain beats anything I've felt so far.. Burns and broken bones don't compare..
This has interrupted my ship date also but I'd much rather go later then sick by far..
That's it.. Just hope I'm healthy soon............
